Why TravelTrekTour?
In 1997 Dan and Karen started Ottawa Life Magazine, which has grown to become the go-to website in Canada’s capital for information and stories on politics, news, theatre, sports, culture and music. We decided when we started that we would include a travel section in each issue and publish stories on different travel destinations from around the world. What we learned after a few years is that there are 3 types of people-travelers, tourists and trekkers. Each type shares the love for a trip but all have different ideas and priorities about how they want their adventure to play out when they arrive. Some want adventure, others want active recreation and others just want to immerse themselves for a week or so in the local culture and relax. Out of that idea and premise travetrektour.com was born. Each of the stories on our site are from real trips and highlight itineraries of what we found best in each destination whether you are there to travel, trek or tour. We are happy to share the links and information on places we have stayed, adventures and recreation activities we have participated in and cultural, historical and local traditions and customs to be aware of that can turn a trip into a memory for a lifetime. TravelTrek Tour was born out of our love for travel, for meeting new people, experiencing new cultures and the transformative magic that happens when you see the many wonders of the world firsthand and spend time with people who are so very different but in so many ways the same us.
