Open NCC – Sat. Sept 14th

If you’re curious to see what the National Capital Commission is, then you have to take part in Open NCC. Back for a third year, this one-day event offers locals the chance to get a behind-the-scenes peek into the day-to-day activities and projects happening in the National Capital Region.

Take part in walking, cycling and boat tours and don’t miss the opportunity to visit the various kiosks and presentations where NCC experts will be on hand to discuss topics such as architecture, landscape design, and the protection of species at risk, among others.

The event is this Saturday, September 14 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and admission is free!

Open NCC includes the following sites and activities:

•  Major’s Hill Park
•  Voyageurs Pathway
•  Gatineau Park
•  LeBreton Flats
•  Pinhey Sand Dunes
•  Mer Bleue

Registration is required for the following activities:

•  Guided bike tour to preview Westboro Beach
•  Guided bike tour of Confederation Boulevard
•  Boat tour of the Rideau Canal (departs from 1 Elgin Street)
•  Sneak peek of Kìwekì point
