Tremblant is Kicking Off the Season With Big Events & Kids Ski Free Week
By Camryn Munday
While this winter in Ottawa is yet to see snowfall, Mont-Tremblant is slowly but surely becoming a winter wonderland that is just two hours away. Mont-Tremblant is preparing to kick off its 2024 ski season with a jam-packed calendar of activities, including its brand-new “Kids Ski Free Week.”
Kids Ski Free Week is an initiative to introduce new skiers to the mountain. Kids under 12 can claim up to 7 days of free skiing between December 7th and December 13th. Kids Ski Free Week will also offer 50 percent off ski lessons that will teach your child not only the basics of skiing, but also important slopeside skills like how to use a chairlift and proper mountain etiquette.
Kids who need gear for their first skiing experience will also receive 50 percent off ski and snowboard rentals during Kids Ski Free Week. For those wishing to sign up their aspiring young skier, it is mandatory to reserve free tickets for Kids Ski Free Week at this link prior to arriving on the slope.
Even better, Kids Ski Free Week coincides with the Tremblant PwC World Cup, which will happen on December 7th and 8th. This world-class skiing competition features the world’s best female alpine ski racers. The Tremblant PwC World Cup draws big crowds to Mont-Tremblant and always sets the village abuzz with activity and excitement. Get your tickets to the Tremblant World Cup program here.
Another headlining event at Mont-Tremblant is the “24H Tremblant” fundraiser, where 5000 participants will challenge themselves to take turns walking, running, skiing, and alpine hiking for a full twenty-four hours. This relay-style 5km loop will put participating athletes to the test as they brave the alpine conditions in a challenge of endurance, speed, and generosity. The beneficiaries of this fundraiser are several foundations that support childrens’ mental and physical well-being, including kids with cancer. Participate in, donate to, or spectate the 24H Tremblant challenge, happening December 13-15.
All three of these events are surrounded by a fun program of activities that will happen at the foot of Mont-Tremblant’s ski slopes, where a charming holiday-themed Pedestrian Village brims with decorations and gourmet restaurants. If you or your child want a break from the ski slopes, these events offer musical performances, engagement with PwC World Cup athletes, heartfelt moments with 24H Tremblant sponsored children, and all sorts of outdoor winter festivities in the Pedestrian Village.
The middle of the ski season at Mont-Tremblant is also giving visitors lots of options for activities after a full day on the slopes. You can attend Saint-Bernard Chapel’s candlelit piano concert “Luminosa” from December 20th to January 4th (tickets available here) and then take a stroll (or a skate) around the chapel’s outdoor ice garden and snow maze. You can cozy up at Mont-Tremblant’s free Holiday Movie Nights Presented by Coca-Cola, where families can choose from a bilingual program of festive films at the Camp de Base Tremblant from December 27-30. You can even ring in the new year with Tremblant’s New Year’s countdown and a free party with DJ Illmaster in the Pedestrian Village.
Even if skiing is not your cup of tea, Mont-Tremblant’s 2024 winter season programming has something for every member of the family.
